Abstract

863,368. Filters for liquids. DORR-OLIVER Inc. June 11, 1957 [Aug. 31, 1956], No. 18362/57. Class 46. [Also in Group XXV] In a rotary or other filter having a filter compartment defined by a base member 12, a pair of spaced side members 17 secured to the base and a filter support and drainage member 13 on the base between the side members, elongated locking strip members 14 lock the support and drainage member 13 in position on the base member 12, engaging the member transversely from above. The support &c. member 13 is rigid and shaped to conform to the base 12 and its upstanding ribs which support a sheet of filter medium are cut away to provide grooves in which the locking members 14 lie flush therewith. The ends 16 of these members engage beneath flanges 18 on the side members 17 and the grooves are deepened at their ends to permit the ends of the locking members 14 to pass beneath the flanges 18 when they are sprung into place. In assembling the device the support &c. member is placed on the base member, the transverse locking strips are applied from above on to the support &c. member and their ends engaged with the base member.
