Abstract

863,299. Adjusting bearings. SVENSKA TURBIN AKTIEBOLAGET LJUNCSTROM. July 9, 1959, No. 23622/59. Class 12 (1). A thrust bearing, comprising a bearing body 2 carrying bearing pads or blocks 4 at its opposite sides, is supported in a housing 3 by means of circumferentially spaced pins 6 disposed in two axially spaced parallel radial planes. The ends 7 of the pins are chamfered and engage corresponding inclined surfaces 8 on the bearing body. The pins 6 are locked axially by bolts 9. Screws 10 having enlarged heads 11 facilitate the removal of the pins 6. The pins are spaced at equal intervals around the bearing and radially aligned with the spaces between adjacent bearing pads or blocks or with the spaces between pairs of pads.
