Abstract
The invention comprises dyes of formula:- <FORM:0863155/IV(c)/1> where D is a monocyclic radical of the benzene series. The dyes may be made by appropriate diazo and coupling reactions or by treating the necessary azo dye with at least an equimolar quantity of a cyanuric halide. Chlorine is the preferred halogen. Indicated as components from which D is derived are 1, 3-diaminobenzene-4-, 1, 4-diaminobenzene-3- and 2-methoxy-1, 4-diaminobenzene-5-sulphonic acids. The dyes are especially of use for dyeing or printing cellulose materials, cold alkaline dyeing processes being preferred. Examples are provided of the preparation of the dyes and their use in dyeing cellulose fibres in greenish-yellow shades. Specifications 797,946 and 838,337 are referred to.
