862,979. Cores for dynamo-electric machines. ELEKTRO-MOTOREN A.G. May 16, 1957, No. 15590/57. Class 35. [Also in Group XXII] A ring-shaped iron core having radial slots in an end face suitable for use in electromagnets or electric motors comprises a strip 1 which is slotted radially after winding on a former 6. The slots are cut in the outer layer of the ring as the strip is wound on, the slotting tool moving through previously cut slots in the inner layers to trim the slot. Prior to winding, the strip is lubricated with a polymerizable synthetic resin which subsequently hardens to insulate the laminations.
