Abstract

862,883. Window-operating apparatus. MATHIAS-THESEN-WERFT WISMAR VEB. Nov. 13, 1958, No. 36529/58. Class 20(3) [Also in Groups XXV and XXXIII] A hinged skylight 7 which is opened and closed by a double-acting pressure piston 5a has a releasable latch actuated by an hydraulically operated piston 3a which is so arranged in the pressure medium supply for the doubleacting piston that the latch is automatically released prior to actuation of the piston 5a. The latch consists of a spring-pressed pawl 4 cooperating with a catch 4b. In opening the skylight, pressure oil &c., is delivered through conduit 8, control slide valve 2 and conduit 9 to pressure cylinder 3 where it displaces the piston 3a to release the latch. After displacement of the piston 3a, the pressure oil passes through conduit 10 to pressure cylinder 5 where it forces the piston 5a upwardly to open the skylight. When the skylight reaches the required open position the shut-off valve 14 in the return conduit 12 is closed. The piston 3a is returned to its initial position by means of a return spring 3c and axial compensating bores (not shown) in the piston. To close the skylight, the valve 14 is re-opened and the control slide valve 2 moved to the position shown in broken lines, so that the pressure fluid in the cylinder 5 forces the piston 5a downwards.
