A spiked-metal-plate for securing a ferrule &c. 6 to a rod 7, e.g. a furniture-leg, comprises a base 1 with one or more arms 3 substantially at right-angles thereto. The or each arm is formed with a series of prongs 4 along at least one side-edge, anc a series 5 cut and bent out of portions spaced from the edges, Prongs 4 are bent outwardly anc away from the base, and prongs 5 are bent inwardly and towards the base.
