Abstract

860,440. Liquefied gaseous filled lighters. JANODET, M. April 23, 1957 [April 25, 1956], No. 12897/57. Class 75 (3). In a liquefied gaseous fuel lighter a liquefied gaseous fuel container 1 is formed from a single piece of sheet material and has an opening at one end closed by brazing and soldering the open sides or edges to a tubular portion 2 along lines extending in an axial direction and on diametrically opposite sides of the tubular portion 2. The broad side walls of the container 1 are extended upwardly and form a slide way 4 for attachment of the container 1 to a slider 5a provided on a plate 5 supporting the friction wheel 6, a friction wheel actuating lever 7, a snuffer cap 8 and a gas valve control lever 9. When the container 1 is mounted on the plate 5 a second slider 15 previously mounted in the slide-way 4 on the top of the container 1, is pushed along the slide-way 4 to align a duct 15a therein with a flint tube 10 so that the flint 11 can be pushed into engagement with the friction wheel 6 by a spring 13. The lower end of the tube 2 is provided with a refuelling valve 16. The upper end of the tube 2 is provided with a piston 18 operated by the gas valve control lever 9 against a spring 19 to lift a disc 20a carried by a burner 20, off a gas outlet 21. Disposed before the gas outlet 21 is a rubber block 22 in which is received a cellular polythene cone 23. The cone 23 is placed upon a tube 24 communicating with the container 1 through an aperture 3. Liquid gaseous fuel is fed to the tube 24 by a wick.
