859,077. Hinges and pivots. ROGERS Inc., J. May 25, 1959, No. 17797/59. Class 65(2). A post 15 carrying a drum accessory (not shown) projects from a solid ball 14 which is journalled in a socket 11, 13 mounted on a fixed post 12 and has an equatorial recess 23 engaged by locking means e.g. screws 17, mounted in the socket. The socket comprises a base 11, externally threaded at 18, and a "cage" 13 internally threaded to engage the base 11 and locked thereto by a screw 16. Two screws 17 are positioned 90 degrees apart around the "cage", and have pointed ends to penetrate the softer metal of the ball to ensure a rigid locking of the drum accessory in the required position.
