Abstract

A method of forming a circuit board comprises simultaneously spraying molten metal and a mixture of molten solder and resin from separate convergent spray guns on to an insulating blank so as simultaneously to build up the connecting paths of a circuit and to connect to it components which have previously been placed in position. The blank may be previously formed with grooves to accommodate the sprayed conductors in which case the surplus metal between the grooves is removed by machining. Alternatively, the metal and solder may be sprayed through a stencil of the type described in Specification 859,048 [Group XVI]. Reference is made in the Provisional Specification to the use of a ferromagnetic stencil, pulled down on to the blank by means of a magnet. The blank may be moulded from phenolic resin, nylon or PTFE. The final assembly may be coated with insulating material.
