Abstract

858,741. Gaseous discharge tube relay circuits. MULLARD Ltd. July 31, 1959, No. 26355/59. Class 40(6). A circuit for detecting the excursion of voltage beyond pre-determined positive and negative limits comprises two potential dividers such as 12, 22 connected across the input terminals 10, 11 and arranged so that on positive excursions diode D2 conducts so that the tube T fires when the voltage between the trigger and point 11 exceeds a predetermined value; whilst on negative excursions diode D1 conducts so that tube T fires when the voltage between the cathode and point 11 exceeds the same predetermined value. The indicating means may comprise an electromagnetic relay R operating an alarm device. Tappings such as F, G, H may be provided in each potential divider to make the circuit suitable for monitoring a range of voltages.
