Abstract

Polyvinyl resin plastisol compositions comprise a polyvinyl resin, a plasticizer therefore and a viscosity stabilizer consisting of an aliphatic dihydric alcohol. The resin may be polyvinyl chloride, copolymers of vinyl chloride with vinylidene compounds such as vinylidene chloride and mixtures thereof. The plasticizer may be tricresyl phosphate, triethylene glycol dicaprylate and phthalate esters of mixtures of monohydric alcohols containing 7 to 9 carbon atoms. Specified glycols include ethylene glycol, a -propylene glycol, a -butylene glycol, b -amylene glycol, tetramethylene glycol, dimethyl tetramethylene glycols, hexylene glycols and polyethylene glycols such as diethylene glycol and triethylene glycol. The compositions may also comprise stabilizers, e.g. dibutyl tin maleate. Specification 858,176 is referred to.
