Abstract

856,392. Pallets for hanging loads. GRYTHYTTANS STALMOBLER A.B. Oct. 21, 1958 [Oct. 28, 1957], No. 33614/58. Class 78 (4). [Also in Group XXV] An end wall for retaining goods on a platform pallet is carried on the pallet by feet 17 (Fig. 1), which can be sprung apart to take over the legs 14 of the pallet, with which they have a positive locking engagement. In the form illustrated each of two end walls is formed in two parts connected by a tubular portion 8 which can be flexed, to effect inward and outward movement of the feet, when a band 10 is slid vertically on a pair of inclined tubes 5. Each foot has three surfaces formed by welding together a pair of mitred irons and each foot is positively located on the pallet by a length of angle iron 18. Each of two side walls is formed by two sections 23 which may be joined by a horizontal hinge bracket, not shown, and which are connected to the uprights 1, 2 of the end walls by releasable fastenings 25, 26 and 27, 28 (Figs. 12 and 15). The fastenings 25, 26 comprise strips welded to the side frame 23 and moved to embrace the uprights 1, 2 by a twisting motion of the side frame 23. The catches 27, 28 comprise similar strips pivoted on pins 30 (Fig. 15), to the verticals 24 of the side frame and locked in engaging position by a member 33 slid over the tail 32 of a lever 29 carrying the strips 27, 28. Lugs 38 (Fig. 1), on shelves may rest on horizontal members of the frame or each shelf may be formed in two hinged parts 36, 37 secured by catches similar to the catches 25, 26.
