Abstract

855,647. Eyes. WALKER Ltd., T. March 10, 1959 [March 28, 1958], No. 9963/58. Class 43 [Also in Group XXV] An eye member of a two part hook and eye fastening device formed from a one piece sheet metal blank comprises a bar 1 joining depending attachment prongs 3 the root ends of which are narrower than the adjacent end parts of the bar thereby producing shouldered end portions 2 which are bent so as to project inwardly beneath the bar in the direction of the opposite end thereof and provide a seating adapted to lie against the surface of material to which the device is attached to elevate the bar. In an alternative form a short lug on each side of the root of each prong is bent inwardly or the lug may be positioned between two prongs. The roots of the prongs may have cut away parts 4 to ensure bending in the correct position. The bar may be curved and the bent over end parts may contact the underside of the bar.
