Abstract

854,784. Seats and sealing. ARTHUR, F. H. April 21, 1959 [Jan. 21, 1958], No. 2044/58. Class 146(2). [Also in Group XXV] A seal made of deformable material for application to parcels, meters, milk churns, zip fasteners and the like, comprises a pair of identical parts which interlock with each other, each having a centre piece 2 with a male part 4 to one side and a female part 7 to the other. The male part 4 has two divergent flanges 4a weakly connected to the end 10 and which are protected by flanges 6. The female part consists of a pair of spaced parallel slightly resilient tongues 7 which extend perpendicularly from the centre piece 2 and each terminates in an inwardly turned lip 8. The seal is particularly suitable for securing a zip fastener wherein the two parts surround the fastener track, the ends of the seals passing through eyelets provided in the material carrying the zip.
