Abstract

853,973. Printed circuit assemblies. BRITISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS RESEARCH Ltd. Aug. 28, 1958 [Sept. 11, 1957], No. 28690/57. Class 37 A connecting arrangement for a printed circuit card carrying on one side conductive strips all running in substantially the same direction, and wire ended components on the other side, is characterized in that an auxiliary card, also carrying conductive strips all running in substantially the same direction, is secured to the main card in a substantially parallel plane so that the strips on the two cards run in appreciably different directions. A card 1 is provided with printed conductors 2 which may be produced in any known manner, and auxiliary cards 5 carrying conductors 6 are secured to the main card by rivets 7 and separated therefrom by thin washers. The conductor 6 may run the full length of the auxiliary cards or may be divided into separate portions 11, 12, 13. Components 4 and interconnecting wires 9 are mounted on the reverse side of the main card and are secured to the conductors by having their ends passed through holes in the card and soldered to the appropriate point in the conductive pattern. Where the conductive wire is likely to touch a rivet 7 it may be insulated as at 10.
