853,739. Earth-moving equipment. McKIEVER, D. J. July 10, 1958 [July 25, 1957], No. 22177/58. Class 68(1). [Also in Group XXX] A load-lifting implement for rigid securing to a self-propelled vehicle 5 consists of a wheeled carriage 9 pivotally supporting for movement in a vertical plane a boom 10 carrying the load-lifting device 11, e.g. a scoop, a shovel, crane hook or the like, a mast structure 8, 14 for securing to the vehicle, and means, e.g. cables, jacks or linkages between the mast and the boom for swinging the boom vertically when power is supplied to the means from the prime mover of the vehicle. The boom is preferably supported on a turntable 17 mounted on the carriage 9. The preferred vehicle is a tractor 5 mounting a dozer blade 6 to which the carriage 9 is clamped by forked members 21 and screw units 20 engaging the bottom of the blade 6 and lugs 19 at the top of the blade 6 respectively. The blade 6 is so supported on a U shape yoke 7 that it can be raised and lowered and tilted about the longitudinal axis of the tractor. The mast structure 8, 14 is detachably secured to the yoke.
