Abstract

852,192. Automatic voltage control systems; battery chargers; converting. PARTRIDGE WILSON & CO. Ltd. Jan. 26, 1959 [Jan. 27, 1958], No. 2631/58. Classes 38 (2) and 38 (4). A voltage regulated A.C. fed battery charger comprises a transformer T, a rectifier 8, and a transductor having a D.C. winding 4 which is self excited by means of a series rectifier 5. Another D.C. winding 3 is controlled by a vibratory relay, sensitive to the rectifier 8 voltage output, which breaks the circuit to the winding 3 when the voltage exceeds a determined level which may be 2.35 volts per cell, which voltage may be adjusted by means of a resistor 11.
