851,855. Moulding hollow articles. MAUSER, R., MAUSER, A., MAUSER, P., and MAUSER, E. Dec.17, 1956 [Dec. 16, 1955], No.38365/56. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XVII] A protective covering 31 of synthetic material is applied to a one piece inner envelope 29 by placing the inner envelope, complete with reinforcing elements 35, in a mould and filling the space between the mould and the inner envelope with the synthetic material. The coating 31 may have a polyvinylchloride or a polyester base. To avoid deformation of the envelope 29 prior to and during the application of the covering 31, the envelope may be filled with a gaseous or liquid medium under pressure. Alternatively the vessel may contain a substance which evaporates when heated, as by the application of the heated synthetic material 31, to give the desired internal pressure. The envelope 29 is of metal or synthetic material.
