Abstract

851,233. Insulating conductors. BRENTFORD TRANSFORMERS Ltd. Sept. 26, 1958 [Oct. 11, 19S7], No. 31837/57. Class 36 [Also in Group XXXII] Insulation is applied to a conductor 6 by feeding a length of tubular braided insulating material, such as braided glass fibre, on to a hollow mandrel 1 and passing the conductor through the mandrel so as to take the insulating material with it. The mandrel may be slotted to facilitate removal from the conductor and several mandrels may be used to apply insulation to a long conductor.
