Abstract
850,620. Liquid-pressure engines. GRATZMULLER, J. L. March 26, 1958 [March 29, 1957], No. 9687/58. Class 69 (2). An hydraulic motor comprises pistons 5, 6 reciprocable in cylinders 4, 3 to oscillate an output shaft 11 through a rack-and-pinion connection. On supplying pressure liquid to an inlet 39, a valve spool 38 is raised and uncovers a passage 27 leading via a non-return valve 28 to the cylinder 3 to move piston 6 outwardly. Valve spool 38 also unseats a valve 35 to permit exhaust of liquid from cylinder 4 to an outlet line 53. Application of pressure to an inlet 40 raises a valve spool 45 to uncover a line to cylinder 4 and to unseat a valve 31 in the exhaust line from cylinder 3. Shaft 11 extends at one end through a casing 2, suitable bearings and seals being provided, and a relief valve may be provided to relieve excess pressure of leakage fluid inside casing 2. Relief valves 48, 49 are provided for the cylinders 3, 4. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 806,398.
