Abstract
850,488. Filtering gases. AIR CONTROL INSTALLATIONS Ltd., and CLIFFORD, G. E. March 5, 1959 [March 24, 1958], No. 9392/58. Class 8(2). Filtering apparatus comprises a holder 14, Fig. 1, in a casing 10 for a supply web of filtering material 15 which passes over guide rollers 16, 17 to a take-up spool 18. The spool 18 is housed in a substantially closed casing unit 20, Fig. 2, provided with a slot for the web and this casing unit is detachably mounted in a casing 11. The spool 18 is driven through a detachable coupling (not shown) whereby the casing 20 and spool 18 may be removed from the apparatus. The casings 10, 11, Fig. 1, are provided with hinged lids 10a, 11a to allow for loading and unloading and a micro-switch 13 is provided to indicate when the supply is exhausted while a spring 24 maintains a tension on the spool 18. The slot of the casing 20 may be closed by a plate 23 prior to removal of this casing from the apparatus.
