850,250. Binocular cases. HENSOLDT & SOHNE OPTISCHE WERKE A. G., M. Dec. 3, 1958 [Dec. 6, 1957; Sept. 26, 1958], No. 38922/58. Class 97(1) A cover for objectives and eye pieces of binoculars is characterized by a shell capable of being pushed on to the corresponding objective or eyepiece tube consisting of a material capable of being turned inside out, said shell being connected to the corresponding tube or to a sleeve pushed on to the objective or eyepiece tube respectively, over a short zone of its circumference. As shown, covers 5, 51 are attached to the objective tubes 4, 4<1> having rubber protective caps 11, 111, by screws 6, 61, and can be turned inside out from an operative position 5 to an inoperative position 5<1>. Covers 2, 2<1> are similarly attached to eyepiece tubes 1, 1<1> but on the side away from the folding axis. In a modification the objective covers have T-shaped projections which fit directly into slits in rubber objective sleeves, and the eye piece covers and their corresponding sleeves are made in one piece.
