Abstract

850,199. Proportioning flowing liquids. MEDO APPARATEGESELLSCHAFT & CO. May 4, 1959 [May 2, 1958], No. 15240/59. Class 86 An apparatus for proportioning two liquid streams in flow measures the flow of each stream and varies one of them by means of a valve controlled by a differential circuit connecting the two flowmeasuring devices. The main flow actuates an impeller wheel 7 having a ring magnet 8 which deflects the beam from an electron tube 9. The supplementary liquid is supplied from a tank 10 by a pump 12 and actuates an impeller wheel 22 having a ring magnet 23 which deflects the beam of electrons from a tube 25. The impulses emitted by the two electron tubes 9, 25 are converted by the impulse converters 26, 27 respectively into voltages which are compared in the differential circuit 28, causing the motor 29 to rotate in one or the other direction according to which voltage is the greater; the motor actuates the diaphragm valve 17 to adjust the flow of the supplementary liquid accordingly. The support 5, the frame 6, the pipe section 21, the housing 24 and the impeller wheels 7, 22 are constructed of dia-magnetic material
