Abstract
850,040. Pontoon rafts. STOREY (ENGINEERS) Ltd., T. July 1, 1959 [July 2, 1958], No. 21135/58. Addition to 804,207. Class 113. An improvement in the invention claimed in the parent Specification comprises a pontoon secttion 10 connected to the ends or sides of the buoyant section 11 by a member 15, supported at its base by a pivot 13 and at the top by a locking pin 30 locating in the tie bar 27. The member 15 has a hook 16, adapted to locate the hook 19 on the section 11, and a female lug, adapted to locate a male lug on the section 11, which is secured by a locking pin 21. The tie bar 27 is pivotally mounted at one end on the section 10 at 28 and at the other end is connected to a pull jack 36 which provides the tractive effort required when connecting the sections 10 and 11 together. The tie bar 27 is provided with a number of holes along its length into which the pin 30 may be located to provide angular adjustment of the section 10. The gap between the sections 10 and 11 is sealed at the bottom by a baffle plate and at the top by a bridge piece.
