Abstract
850,027. Batteries. SVENSKA ACKUMULATOR AKTIEBOLAGET JUNGNER. Dec. 27, 1957, No. 40222/57. Class 53 A battery, which may be of the zinc-silver type, is provided with separators consisting partially or wholly of condenser paper. Fig. 1 shows a method of wrapping an electrode 1 in a sheet 2 of regenerated cellulose. The sheet is first folded, and the electrode placed in the fold, the open ends of the sheet being closed by strips 4 of condenser paper which may be cemented in position. The sheet is then folded as shown in Fig. 2, the lower ends of the strips 4 being folded round the bend in the sheet 2. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which the strips 4 are replaced by a sheet 5 of condenser paper, three layers of regenerated cellulose and five layers of condenser paper being on each side of the electrode 1. A battery may comprise a silver electrode wrapped in regenerated cellulose as shown in Fig. 2, on each side of which is a zinc electrode similarly wrapped in condenser paper.
