Abstract

849,719. Pneumatic conveyers. UNITED STATES MINERAL WOOL CO. Dec. 30, 1958, No. 42045/58. Class 78 (1). Apparatus for spraying light-weight fibrous and granular materials on to a surface to be coated therewith comprises a hopper 11, Fig. 1, containing a rotary material metering device 12, Fig. 5, a cylindrical casing 14, Fig. 2, containing a bladed rotor 15 and having an elongated aperture 19 in its upper surface, removable end plates for the casing on one of which the driving motor 20 for the rotor is mounted, a conduit 21 connected to a blower 23 and to the casing, and a conduit 22 connected to the casing and ending in a discharge head 36. Moistening nozzles 27, 28 may be provided. The metering device 12 may be a screw, spiral or brush. The flow of material from the hopper may be regulated by a slidable apertured plate 34.
