Abstract
849,484. Nuclear fuel elements. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. Oct. 3, 1958 [Oct. 24, 1957], No. 33228/57. Class 39(4). A nuclear fuel plate has on at least one face extended surfaces in a herringbone pattern. The plates are spaced apart and stacked so that on opposed faces of adjacent plates the pattern is reversed to cause helical flow of coolant between plates. The extended surfaces are made by finning, ribbing, or roughening.
