Class 64(1) In a thermal regenerator e.g. for a hot-gas engine, refrigerator or heat pump, the heat transfer material 1 is embraced by a wall 2 of elastic material under tension, e.g. rubber or nylon. The heat transfer material may comprise stacked perforated plates or sheets of wire gauze or a sintered material and may be secured to the wall 2 by means of an adhesive. The wall 2 may be braced as shown against gas pressures in the regenerator, by a supporting wall 4 of metal or synthetic resin.
