847,747. Raincoats. MATTHEWS, R. K., and WAINWRIGHT, R. P. Aug. 21, 1958, No. 26835/58. Class 141 [Also in Group XXIX] A raincoat is provided with an inflatable tube arranged around the skirt portion and with a mouth valve (See Group XXIX) for inflating the tube. In a raincoat made of plastics &c. the tube I is preferably formed by the welded hem 2 of the coat and is sealed at one end 3 and provided with a mouth valve at its open end. In a modification, the tube is extended up one front edge 4 of the coat and terminates in a mouth valve 17 in the lapel 5. Several constructions of hem and tube with and without weather strips 7 are described. The tube may be separate and detachable from the hem of the coat.
