846,799. Pipe couplings; liquified gas revaporizer. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. May 5, 1958 [June 6, 1957], No. 14314/58. Classes 8(2) and 99(1). A liquid to gas oxygen conversion system includes a liquid storage container 28, a vent circuit 27, 19, a build-up circuit 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, between the liquid and gaseous phases in the container 28, and a combined build-up and bent valve 14 arranged in a normal position to complete the build-up circuit and in a venting position to respectively shut off and open said circuits, being arranged to be brought into said venting position upon coupling a liquid oxygen supply connector 41 to the valve body 11. The supply connector 41, held coupled to the valve body 11 by a spring loaded bayonettype coupling member 57, contains a normally closed outlet valve 55 which on coupling contacts a pin 56 to move the valve head 14 off its seat 16 and on to a seat 17 whereby the container 28 is vented to atmosphere by passages 27, 19 and the build up circuit 21, 23 is shut off. The end 40 of the connector 41 seats against a spring-loaded sealing sleeve 30 slidable on the pin 56. On coupling, liquid oxygen can flow through chamber 33 and non- return valve 34 to the liquid container 28, whilst at the same time the container is vented through the chamber 15 and valve 13, 14 to atmosphere. The closure of valve 12, 14 during the filling operation prevents the escape to atmosphere of gas pressure from the build-up circuit which extends from the liquid phase of the container 28 through the warming coil 21, valve 22 and conduits 23, 27 to the gas phase of the container 28.
