Abstract

846,051. Change-speed control. GETRAG GETRIEBE - UND ZAHNRADFABRIK G.m.b.H. April 24, 1958 [April 24, 1957], No. 13057/58. Class 80 (2). A ratio selector shaft 2 is moved axially of a bore in a change-speed gear shaft 1 on turning a control lever 10 connected to the selector shaft by a push-pull rod 8, the part-spherical end 7 of the push-pull rod being retained in a cavity 6 in the selector rod by a spring clip 5, &c., and bearing balls 9 allowing the selector shaft to rotate relatively to the push-pull rod. A spring-biased ball detent 11 engages in any one of a number of recesses 13 to retain the selector shaft 2 in the various ratio established positions. The control lever 10 may be turned manually, or by an electric or hydraulic means.
