Abstract

In the regeneration or elution of a bed of ion-exchanger, the amount of liquid introduced into the bed is proportional to the amount of exchanger which is removed periodically from the bed. The liquid is introduced intermittently, e.g. by means of a reciprocating pump, between the ends of the bed while the material is being removed from the bed.ALSO:In the regeneration or elution of a bed of ion-exchange, water softening material the amount of liquid injected into the bed is proportional to the amount of exchanger being periodically removed from the bed.
