Abstract

845,526. Key-holders. PLUMMER, A. Nov. 8, 1957 [Oct. 29, 1956], No. 32995/56. Class 44 A key guard consists of an elastic member moulded on one piece of rubber, synthetic rubber or synthetic plastic material and formed with a recess to receive a key, the recess being shaped generally to follow the contour of the key and being formed with and inturned retaining lip or lips overlapping the margin of the key to hold the key within the recess. As shown, the guard is formed with a back wall 12, a peripheral wall 13 and inturned lips 14 completely to overlap the margins of a key 15. A boss 16 is provided for entering a key-ring hold 17 in the key and the boss itself is formed with a hole 18. In another arrangement, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), the guard is in the form of a punch holding four keys disposed side by side and head-to-tail. In a similar arrangement Fig. 7 (not shown), the retaining lips extend only over the head and tail ends of the keys. Intermediate lip portions extend over the middle portions of the keys. In a modification Fig. 8 (not shown), the head-end lips are divided into segments. In all arrangements the keys may be laid back to back against a common wall 12.
