Abstract

844,572. Loose-leaf binders. ESSELTE A. B. Nov. 20, 1958, No. 37342/58. Class 146(1). A loose-leaf binder comprises an integral plastic cover foldable down the middle of its back portion and two separate rigid angular elements secured one inside each of the half portions 7, 8 of the cover and carrying filing posts 13, ears 15 which position the two angular elements when the binder is closed, and a latch 17 which engages a rigid member 16 to lock the binder in the closed position. The angular elements comprise plates 101, 11<SP>1</SP> extending substantially the full height of the cover with angular parts 10<SP>11</SP>, 1111 welded at each end. The cover is constructed from two sheets of plastic material 2, 3 fused together along seams 5, 6 and at the corners to seat reinforcing inserts 41, 411, which are glued or fused along continuous seams, Fig. 6 (not shown), to the plastic sheets. The back parts of the half portions of the cover and rigid elements between their corner edges may be plane or rounded.
