Abstract

844,373. Waveguide joints. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Nov. 19, 1957 [Aug. 31, 1956], No. 26669/56. Class 40(8). A coupling device 1 with a flange 3 soldered to the end of a waveguide 5 received in a recess in such manner that the internal surfaces of the guide and device are continuous. The end surface 7 of the flange is slightly tapered towards the rim so that when two such sections are bolted together through holes 9, the two coupling devices are pressed together and make good line contact substantially in the region of their internal surfaces.
