Abstract

844,097. Pulleys. SYNCRO MACHINE CO. March 27, 1958 [Sept. 20, 1957], No. 9890/58. Class 80 (1).). A sheave or capstan partially for use in a wire drawing machine comprises a main body member 10 with a flange 24 to which is clamped by a cover flange 20 a band 13 forming a cylindrical base to the pulley groove. The ends of the band 13 abut closely at 14 and shoulders 12, 21 are provided on the flanges 24, 20 respectively to receive the band which may be expanded by a split ring 15 and a conical screwed plug 18. Alternatively the ring 15 may be integral with the cover flange which is split for expansion. In another arrangement the band is contracted by a split cover flange on to a cylindrical portion of the main body.
