Abstract

In a repulsion type moving iron instrument, - an additional iron 17, Fig. 2, exerting when the instrument is energized an attractive force on the moving iron 10 is mounted by screw 19 in slot 20, so that the rate of change of effective distance between the concave circular edge of iron 17 and moving iron 10 as it moves within the limits of iron 17, is adjustable. The energizing coil 3 Fig. 1, is shielded magnetically by a ferromagnetic shield 2 in the form of a cup and the additional iron 17 is provided at the open end. The additional iron is effective from approximately mid-scale to full scale.
