842,787. Electrical measuring instruments. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. March 23, 1959 [March 25, 1958], No. 9546/58. Class 37. In a repulsion type moving iron instrument, the fixed iron 15, tapered from the bent over zero end, is provided at the tapered end with an enlarged portion 15a effective to introduce a reverse repulsion effect at the full scale end of the moving iron travel. The scale of the instrument at the full scale end is thereby compressed in a manner described with reference to Fig. 4 (not shown).
