A fuel container 10 for oil-burning appliances has a supporting member 11 rigidly attached and provided with a pair of lugs 12 formed with slots parallel to the vertical axis of the container in which pivot portions 14 of a bail handle 15 ; thus when the container 10 is inverted the pivotal axis is moved to the other side of the centre of gravity.
