854,334. Jugs and like receptacles. CORNING GLASS WORKS. May 12, 1958 [May 15, 1957], No. 15170/58. Class 66. A jug 10 has a hinged cover 32 which swings freely when the jug is in a pouring position and may be freely lifted off the jug only when the cover is in the closed position. Secured to the cover 32 is a cover handle 37 having depending ears 36 in which are L-shaped slots forming a bayonet joint with a hinge pin 31 extending across a socket 30 in a handle 20 for the jug. The jug may be of glass, plastics material, or metal.
