Abstract
842,349. Magnetic core storage devices. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. Aug. 24, 1956 [Aug. 25, 1955], No. 2602/60. Divided out of 841,426. Addition to 789,668. Class 38 (2). A modification of the magnetic core storage device disclosed in theparent Specification, which is capable of non-destructive read-out, has a sampling winding arrangement such that the two parallel paths provided by an aperture 11 are embraced either by the two loops of a figure-of-eight winding as shown, or by two windings connected in series or parallel so as to provide a local magnetic flux round the aperture 11. The pulsing of the sampling windings gives rise to an output pulse which is indicative of the sense of remanent flux in the core. The core may be of rectangular configuration.
