Abstract
841,493. Dynamometers. SAUER & SOHN G.m.b.H., J. P., [formerly SAUER & SOHN A.G., J.P.]. Aug. 22,1957, No. 26475/57. Class 35. A dynamometer has a liquid cooled internal stator having a cylindrical sheath of good conducting material co-operating with an external rotor formed as a roller so that it can be directly driven by a vehicle to be tested. As shown, water is fed to bores in the stator support 1 from fixed tubes 10 and rubber tubes 11 for which a counterweight 15 is mounted on spindle 1. The liquid passes to the sealed spaces 14 between the stator windings 4 and the conducting sheath 6. The rotor is mounted in the roller 20 and has spaced teeth 24 while its windings 25 are connected to slip-rings 26.
