Class 97(1) A spectacle frame is formed with a resilient strip 3 having one end soldered to or pivoted on the brow bar 1 and the other end engageable in a slidable catch 6 or by a projection from the bar 1 so that a lens 7 may be gripped between the strip 3 and the bar 1. The bar 1 has a rearwardly projecting rib 2 which engages in a groove 9 formed in one face of the lens: Two other forms are described in one of which two shorter resilient strips extend from the bar 1, at least one strip being slidable, and in the other a resilient strip is connected to the bar 1 and is bent over the upper lens edge to clamp the lens against the bar.
