A device for raising draw-works-carrying trailers to the level of the base 1 of an oil well derrick comprises a pair of tracks 9 which are connected to a base frame 4 by pivoted links 13, 21, so arranged that the tracks are raised by a winch 31 and cable 30 from the inclined position shown to a raised horizontal position, Fig. 2 (not shown). The base frame 4 is detachably secured to the base 1, and the tracks 9 are provided with pipes 11 which guide dual tyres of the trailer.
