Abstract

840,245. Carding engines. KAWASHIMA, K. Feb. 6, 1958 [Aug. 22, 1957], No. 3960/58. Class 120(1). Fibre is doffed from the cylinder 1 of a carding engine by a worker 5 from which the fibre is removed by a suction roller 7. The fibre on worker 5 is parallelised by the air current induced in a zone F between worker 5 and a cover 10. Two such sets of worker and suction rollers may be located one after the other on cylinder 1, the clearances between the cylinder and the two workers being adjusted so that the fibre is distributed equally between the two sets; the webs from the two suction rollers are then united at a pair of calender rollers.
