Abstract
840,102. Magnetic filters. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 18, 1958, No. 12389/58. Class 117 A magnetic filter element comprises a cylindrical framework 2 of substantially non-magnetic material, e.g. brass, stainless steel, zinc alloy or synthetic resin, the framework containing six part-annular magnet members 8 magnetized in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical framework. A separator comprises a plurality of filter elements assembled upon each other, a steel spacer ring 9 being provided between each pair of elements and located by lugs 7 on the framework 2. In a modification, Fig. 3, the lugs are dispensed with and annular non-magnetic members 10, located by rings 4 of the elements, engage the spacer rings 9. Alternatively, the inner circumference of the members 10 may coincide with the inner circumference of the rings 4 to form a flush-surfaced bore through which a central fixing bolt extends.
