Abstract

839,843. Drawing instruments. JAMIN, R. A. May 9, 1956 [May 11, 1955], No. 14405/56. Drawings to Specification. Class 97(3) [Also in Groups XXII and XXIII] In a set of templates each has a curved profile which is one of a family of curves defined by a relatively simple relation between the arc length and curvature or radius of curvature, each having indicated on it the informaton required to enable the user to determine such characteristics of the profile as will allow another template of the set to be readily selected and located adjacent the first template to form a continuous curve. The profile curves of the family may be Cornu curves or involutes of circles. The templates are used for plotting or drawing curves. In one embodiment the indications are the values of the parameters which determine the two ends of the arc. The templates may bear two graduations one on each side of the template the one being of the parametric kind and the other in units of length, Two or more reference marks may be provided such as drilled, spaced holes.
