Abstract
265,691. Addis, A. W. C., and Edwards, L. E. Nov. 11, 1925. Ruling-devices.-For ruling interrupted lines a ruler 1 or other drawing instrument is formed with one or more straight or curved guideways 4, 5, 6, and in the base of each guideway is a number of suitably spaced holes 7, 8, 9, so that by drawing a pen &c. along the guideway the paper is marked each time the pen passes into a hole. The holes may be supplemented by forming the edges 17, 18, 19, of the drawing instrument with recesses 20, 21, 22 Fig. 4, so that a pen &c. drawn along any such edge will also produce an interrupted line. The holes may be countersunk or chamfered to facilitate free movement of the pen &c. One or more of the holes or recesses may be of a form different from that of the others so that the mark produced through such a hole may serve as an index.
