Abstract
839,696. Oven shelves. CANNON INDUSTRIES Ltd., and OATLEY, A. F. March 31, 1958 [March 30, 1957], No. 10469/57. Class 126 The lower parts of metal strips 12, Fig. 1, secured to both side edges of an oven shelf 9 are shaped as inwardly directed rails 13 so that the beaded edges 14 of a cooking pan 15 can slide thereon. The outer parts of each strip 12 are upwardly canted so that its edge 19 lies parallel to, and approximately in the same vertical plane as, each side bar 18 of the shelf frame and spaced therefrom. The strips 12 and bars 18 can therefore embrace projections 6 or engage valleys 7 in the side walls of the oven to support the shelf and pan. A detachable handle 22, Fig. 3, may be provided, which is so forked that the crook-shaped upper limb 23 can engage over the top of the front bar of the shelf where a wide U-shaped bend 21 is provided and the lower limb 24 can engage under the front of the bottom of the pan 15.
