Abstract
839,160. Electric incandescent lamps. LUMALAMPAN A.B. May 16,. 1958 [May 18, 1957], No. 15831/58. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(2) An electric lamp is provided with a current bridge between the lead-in wires to provide an alternative path for the current in the event of a break in the filament, the bridge comprising a paste of copper powder and magnesium oxide in a binder of silicone resin in proportions such that the material is insulating at the normal operating voltage but becomes conductive at a substantially higher voltage. The amount of magnesium oxide may be within the range 18-24% by weight of the copper oxide and is preferably of a smaller grain size. The material is applied by grinding together the copper powder and magnesium oxide and adding the silicone resin to form a viscous paste which is applied to the space between the lead-in wires, which may advantageously be about 2 mm. apart.
